Multi-instrumentalist Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and his R&B, rock, rap, and funk band, “Orleans Avenue,” delivered a New Orleans-style, “Treme Threauxdown,” to an audience armed with face masks and picnic suppers at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center outdoor concert venue on recently.
In what has become a staple of the Wolf Trap summer concert schedule, the date on Aug. 24 was Trombone Shorty’s third show in four years, the streak broken only because of the 2020 COVID pandemic.

Wolf Trap Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary season. Begun from a from a 1966 donation of private farm land and a financial contribution from philanthropist, Catherine Filene Shouse, Wolf Trap opened in 1971 as the first national park for performing arts in the United States. The current summer concert series runs through Sept. 25.
