11 things to look forward to on the Nationals’ homestand.

Braves – September 5-7
Phillies – September 8-11
Mets – September 12-14
1) Budweiser Music Party. For Labor Day, on September 5th, the Nationals will host a pregame music party starting at 1:30pm. There will be a mechanical bull and the stylings of Joe Bachman & The Tailgaters. Ticket includes a game ticket, concert and a Bud.
2) Trea Turner. Named NL August Rookie of the Month! His 45 hits in August are a Nationals rookie record for a calendar month. He hit .357, scored 27 runs and had an incredible 11 stolen bases!
3) Division Rivals. Basically, if the Mets want to challenge the Nationals for the NL East Division, this will be the time to do it. (The Braves and Phillies are out of it.)
4) Fresh talent. The Nationals added seven players from the minor leagues, as the roster expands heading into the final month of play. Catcher Pedro Severino, outfielder Brian Goodwin, right-handed pitchers Trevor Gott and Rafael Martin, and left-handed pitcher Matt Grace from Triple-A Syracuse. Additionally, Washington selected the contracts of left-handed pitcher Sean Burnett and right-handed pitcher Mat Latos from Triple-A Syracuse.
5) Cathy Lanier. The Nationals will honor the chief of Washington’s Police Department on Monday, September 5th.
6) Hustle. The MLB Players Alumni Association will honor Daniel Murphy (2B) as the Nationals’ 2016 Heart and Hustle Award winner on September 6th.
7) Golden Knights. On September 8th, the U.S. Army Parachute Team will land in Nationals Park after performing some aerial feats. And it’s Pups in the Park #5!
8) Fan’s choice bobblehead! Come out on Friday, September 9th and get the Michael A. Taylor bobble that fans voted on!
9) Oktoberfest Beer Stein! Budweiser wants you (if you’re over 21) to have a Nationals Beer Stein. Come to the game on Saturday, September 10th. There will also be Oktoberfest contests and food and The Edelweiss Band will play.
10) Heroes Day. The Nationals will host the final Patriotic Series game, honoring the service of our military, law enforcement, rescue and aid workers across the country.
11) Teddy racing for the championship! Teddy expanded his lead in the President’s Race standings (18-13). He’s running for only his second season-long championship! He won in 2014.
