Steve Miller Band made their annual visit to Wolf Trap recently, and Jason Nicholson was there to capture the action in pictures!
At Wolf Trap on June 22, Steve Miller and company broke out all of the hits, and the band favored their smash album Fly Like an Eagle (1976.) The band performed the album’s title track for the second song of the night, and then closed their main set on “Take the Money and Run.” In their encore, Steve Miller Band wrapped the night with “Rock’n Me.”

Fly Like an Eagle dominated the 16-song setlist with six selections, but Steve Miller Band also performed several songs from their well-regarded records Book of Dreams (1977) and The Joker (1973). The band also picked up the title track to Abracadabra (1982) and fan-favorite “Space Cowboy” from Brave New World (1969).
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram opened the show. The young blues guitarist remained a live sensation, stirring the audience with his prodigal talents to start the night. Kingfish played a few songs from his 2021 album 662, among others.
