Earlier this year, two-time Grammy-winning producer Kaytranada released his third studio album TIMELESS via RCA Records. He then hit the road for a North American tour that included a recent show at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

On Oct. 6, Kaytranada visited Merriweather Post Pavilion for a date on the Timeless Tour. Throughout the show, Kaytranada pulled favorites from across his career as well as beloved tracks from the likes of Beyonce, Chance The Rapper, Rihanna, and Janet Jackson, among others. He closed the show with his own “Drip Sweat,” a Timeless track that received a video featuring dance icon Channel Tres.

TIMELESS is proving to be one of 2024’s most beloved albums, with NPR describing the album as “a gift” and SPIN noting that it is “the sound of a master getting back into the groove.”
Since the age of 14, when Kaytranada first began to DJ — and when his brother introduced him to music production software — his output has been relentless. Kaytranada said said, “After he showed me the basics, from that day on I couldn’t stop making beats,” pumping out a handful of tracks per day for the next couple of years. Single releases like “Drive Me Crazy” with Vic Mensa and “Leave Me Alone” with Shay Lia soon spread his name like wildfire. With their release, KAYTRANADA cemented his reputation and his sound; an undeniable swing of the drums comparable to Dilla’s, a signature soulful touch in the melodies, and a healthy dose of funky bass lines.
