Mannequin Pussy has had an explosive year since the release of their fourth album, I Got Heaven, in March. The Philadelphia four-piece consists of Colins “Bear” Regisford (bass, vocals), Kaleen Reading (drums, percussion), Maxine Steen (guitar, synths), and Marisa “Missy” Dabice (guitar, vocals). Matt Pond’s never been too sure about the name he gave his band back in the late ’90s. But nevertheless, he’s released 14 studio albums with the outfit called Matt Pond PA, a tribute to his home state.

The Philadelphia native now lives in New York’s Hudson Valley, but he continues to thrive as a singer-songwriter — regardless of what he calls the group. He abandoned the well-known moniker just a few years ago, leading to a 2023 project known as The Natural Lines, taking the title from an EP he put out a decade earlier.

We’ve updated this review with info on Glosser’s touring members!

“We usually play as a two-piece electronic duo,” said Riley Fanning of Glosser at the start of her recent appearance at DC9. But on this day, Glosser performed as a quartet, adding a bassist and drummer to fill out their sound.

It was a strong if short turn at nine songs, suggesting Glosser has a lot of great possibilities to build on what is already a killer foundation.
