Vampire Weekend released Father of the Bride, the band’s fourth studio album, in May by Columbia Records, and it went straight to #1 on the Billboard 200. Frontman Ezra Koenig and his bandmates took to the road on The Father of the Bride Tour, and they appear at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Thursday, Aug. 29.

At sold-out Lincoln Theater recently, José González and The String Theory delivered an amazing performance. It was a real treat to have seen a full ensemble of instruments with the vocals of José González to give it magical touch.

Beirut, the musical creation of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Zach Condon, had some humble beginnings — a truly bedroom project where he used to live in Sante Fe, New Mexico. But that project has, for the past several years, become an amazing musical force, pulling influences from Italian westerns to European folk music. But the one thing that ties it all together is the unique voice of Zach himself, which we heard clearly at The Anthem recently.
