The Boss — Mr. Bruce Springsteen — recently performed once again in Washington, DC, and his epic show at Nationals Park was a lesson in charisma and a celebration of pure showmanship.

It’s been a busy year for Bruce, and we will recap some of the highlights. On Sept. 7 at Nationals Park, he paid tribute to a career that has spanned more than 50 years, reaching all the way back to sophomore album The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle (1973) to 20th studio record Letter to You (2020). Along the way, Springsteen hit many many highs.

I’ve seen him live several times over the years, but Saturday night I got an unexpected opportunity to shoot his show at Nationals Park in DC. I still can’t believe it actually happened. Thanks for everything, Bruce. I hope the pictures lived up to the moment.”
Earlier this year, Sony Music commemorated the 40th anniversary of Bruce Springsteen’s history-making Born in the USA with a special-edition release featuring new colored vinyl and expanded packaging.
Released on June 4, 1984, Born in the USA has sold approximately 25 million copies to date and captured the pop culture zeitgeist with once-in-a-generation impact. Springsteen and The E Street Band’s accompanying then-tour for Born in the USA included 156 sold-out performances across the globe, while tracks like “Dancing In The Dark,” “No Surrender,” and “Glory Days” remain staples of their live show to this day.
At Nationals Park, Springsteen played only two songs from Born in the USA, including “Dancing in the Dark” in a first encore and after the relatively rarely played “Bobby Jean.”

In April, Columbia Records released Best of Bruce Springsteen, The Boss’ eighth complication album, presenting popular tracks from 1973-2020. The compilation album included songs from “Letter to You,” Springsteen’s 2020 studio album, which received some attention at Nationals Park as well, including an acoustic performance of “Last Man Standing” in the middle of the show.
In October on Disney+, Springsteen and The E Street Band will offer the most in-depth look ever at the creation of their legendary live performances in a new documentary “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band,” featuring unprecedented, behind-the-scenes access to their 2023-2024 world tour.
