Worship leader Kari Jobe will make a stop at Mclean Bible Church in Virginia this Friday, March 31. Kari recently released her fourth full-length album, titled The Garden, on Capitol CMG — and she is currently on the accompanying The Garden Tour, playing her new songs as well as others. Friday’s show is sold out.
On Kari’s website, the new album is described as an invitation “to drink of the wellspring of hope she’s found in the midst of unimaginable tragedy.” The theme of this tour and album is the spring season not only literally but as a metaphor for life.

I have seen Kari once before and her passion and emotion, mixed with the strength of her voice, are awesome. She has won two Dove Awards and been nominated for a Grammy, but her aim is much bigger than that. She is not only a talented musician, but also a Worship Pastor at her home church in Texas.
The great thing about Christian concerts is that they are not just musical performances, they are worship, prayer, and more. I expect Kari will do a great job of leading the DMV in worship on Friday night. Check out a video below for a brief message from Kari on the tour and what to expect. She puts it into words much better (and quicker) than I can.

The event actually starts with workshops around 4pm, leading up to the concert doors at 6pm and then concert will start at 7pm with opening acts. In times of such hatred and division in our country and around the world, events like these give us a breath of fresh air. Whether you are a Christian or not, there may be something there for you.
