311 will release their 12th studio album Mosaic on June 23 via BMG. And the funky rockers will bring an accompanying tour to The Fillmore Silver Spring for two nights on Monday, July 24 and Tuesday, July 25.

The band turned to producers John Feldmann (Blink-182, Panic! At the Disco) and Scotch Ralston (who produced 311’s iconic Transistor, Soundsystem, and Stereolithic albums) to collaborate on the new album, which they are eyeing as their 10th consecutive Top 10 album debut on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.

Lead single “‘Too Much to Think’ is a song about the highs and lows of life — and seeking an escape from every day stresses,” said 311 lead-singer/songwriter Nick Hexum. “It was great to film this video at Vasquez Rocks outside Los Angeles. It’s such a magical setting and not surprising that they’ve shot so many iconic movies and TV shows out there.”

Nick (vocals, guitars), Doug “SA” Martinez (vocals, turntables), Tim Mahoney (guitar), Aaron “P-Nut” Wills (bass), and Chad Sexton (drums) had some fun with the album cover, which is made up of roughly 10,000 photos submitted by fans. The cover depicts the five members of the band, but those also are made up of other tiny photos. You can pan and zoom on the mosaic cover of Mosaic at a special website at www.311AlbumArt.com.
