Just a hour’s drive (or less) from their home in DC (Singer, Katie Alice Greer even quipped that playing it was like staying over a friend’s house), Priests played a blistering set at the Ottobar in Baltimore Saturday night.
The rainy, hot summer weather couldn’t keep this crowd away as we were witness to brilliant sets by new Sister Polygon signees Blood Club, local punk three-piece LIP, and the Baltimore-based Permanent Waves (which includes former Slant 6 / Quix*o*tic member Christina Billotte).
As Priests took the stage, they tore through tracks from their debut LP Nothing Feels Natural, starting with “Appropriate” and “JJ” and ending with “And Breeding” from EP Body and Control and Money and Power.
Katie sang with a forceful determination, playing off the manic energy of the crowd and other band members and even pumped up the crowd as drummer Daniele Daniele sang/spoke the lines from “No Big Bang.” An amazing set to witness, and one that I wished would go on forever!
Their next show is at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar Saturday, July 29. So don’t miss it!
