Hey David Byrne is coming to town, so Parklife DC is going to celebrate his groundbreaking former band, the Talking Heads, with an evening of new wave and punk music at Dodge City on Thursday, Feb. 15!
The Talking Heads released their debut album, Talking Heads: 77, in 1977, a little over 40 years ago! So this edition of Careless Memories, dubbed Talking Heads: 18, ha, will explore some of the biggest and best songs by the Talking Heads as well as some of their contemporaries, including of course Blondie, Television, Ramones, and Fleshtones as well as Devo, The B-52s, The Feelies, Oingo Boingo, and more. Don’t worry UK music lovers! While we’re showcasing some American new wave, we’re also stocking up on The Clash, XTC, The Fixx, Brian Eno, and more in our big Talking Heads tribute night.

As you may alread know, David Bryne is playing a show at The Anthem on May 12, and that show is sold out. He returns to greater DC metro area for a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion on July 28, and good seats remain for that show! (Buy them online.)
