In our opinion by far the biggest show of the month is The B-52s takeover of The Anthem next week. To celebrate the arrival of the Georgia innovators, Parklife DC is hosting a listening party for the music of The B-52s and other new wave bands at Dodge City on Thursday, Sept. 12. Join our B-52s-alooza!
Parklife DC is giving away a pair of tickets to see Adam Ant at the Lincoln Theatre on Monday, Sept. 23! To enter our free drawing for Adam Ant tickets, visit us at Dodge City on Thursday, April 11, for Careless Memories: A New Wave Party.
Careless Memories celebrates Animotion and other artists on Sept. 13 at Dodge City!
Ever yearn to hear that one song by that one artist over a beer? We’ve got you covered with our next edition of Careless Memories, as we celebrate “Lost ‘80s” hits at Dodge City on Thursday, Sept. 13.
Inspired by the Lost ‘80s tour coming to Warner Theatre later this month, Careless Memories will explore the timeless of a crop of new wave artists that crafted irresistible earworms for which they will forever be known with the likes of A Flock of Seagulls and “I Ran (So Far Away),” Animotion and “Obsession,” Wang Chung and “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” and more more more.

We at Parklife DC are beyond thrilled that New Order, one of our all-time favorite bands, will perform at The Anthem later this month. So, we are hosting a night of music consisting of New Order, Joy Division, and their related bands at Dodge City on Thursday, Aug. 9.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, aka OMD, are one of the best modern English bands to emerge from the UK new wave scene, and I would go so far as to say one of the best bands ever anywhere period. OMD play at 9:30 Club on Tuesday, March 6, and you can win tickets to go with Parklife DC by joining us at Dodge City on Thursday, Jan. 11.
George Michael, Bob Geldof, Sting, and Simon LeBon wish you a Merry Christmas. (Photo courtesy Band Aid)
In 1984, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure teamed up to write “Do They Know It’s Christmas,” and they recruited a bunch of pop stars to sing the song for a charity record dedicated to famine relief under the banner of Band Aid. On Thursday, we’ll celebrate the spirit of the song and play some other New Wave-supported Christmas tunes during Careless Memories: A New Wave Party at Dodge City. Get into the holiday spirit with us starting at 8pm!
