Formed in New Orleans in 2007, the eight-man roots band called The Revivalists recently released a new single, “All My Friends,” and they will soon start a tour. The Revivalists will play at Wolf Trap on Sunday, Aug. 19.
David Shaw (lead vocals, guitar), Zack Feinberg (guitar), Ed Williams (pedal steel guitar), George Gekas (bass), Michael Giradot (keyboard, trumpet), Rob Ingraham (saxophone), Andrew Campanelli (drums), and PJ Howard (drums, percussion) are working on a new studio album — the band’s first since 2015’s Men Amongst Mountains.
“All My Friends,” produced by producer/songwriter Dave Bassett (Elle King, Vance Joy) and co-written by Dave and front man David Shaw, suggests The Revivalists will continue to capitalize on their breakout success. “Despite their wildly enhanced stature, the collective has not allowed the success to corrupt the creative ecosystem that has fostered their compelling blend of musical ingenuity and heart. [‘All My Friends’ is a] rollicking floor-stomper that digs into the raw core of the band’s rock and folk roots that flawlessly frays the ethereal sheen,” said Billboard.

The Revivalists have had their share of fans since their debut self-titled EP in 2008, and they scored a #1 hit with the lead single of their last album — “Wish I Knew You.” It scored more than 200 million streams and ascended to #1 on Adult Alternative as well as Alternative radio, where it set a record for most single-week spins ever at the format. Fans will surely find plenty more to like in their upcoming fourth studio album, set for release this fall.
