The Breakout star of the summer, Lil Tecca and his We Love You Tecca Tour smashed through the Fillmore Silver Spring this past weekend with assistance from opening act Pi’erre Bourne.
The sold-out crowd was going crazy before Tecca even hit the stage on Nov. 9. Water and other drinks flew back and forth throughout the crowd as security teamed up to save the barrier as it started to give out. The audience exploded as Tecca ran on stage and popped things off with “Do it Again,” the track which started his meteoric rise when it was posted to worldstar hip hop back in March. The song currently has over 46 million views on Youtube and has completely changed the 17-year-old rapper’s life.
The crowd raged on as Tecca performed the majority of the songs from his debut album We Love You Tecca, including fan favorites like “Somebody,” “Molly Girl,” “Left Right,” and “Out of Luck.” Pi’erre Bourne even came back on stage for a few songs, partying on top of the propeller plane on stage as Tecca performed.
The whole venue sang along as Tecca closed the show out with his hit single “Ransom.” The song rose to No. 4 on the Billboard Top 100 since the release of its music video directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett back in June; it’s currently quadruple platinum and still sitting in the Billboard Top 20 nearly six months later.

In one year, Lil Tecca has gone from just another high school student, recording in his bedroom and posting to Soundcloud to a multi-platinum artist headlining his own tour, performing for sold-out crowds and festivals. The New York rapper’s melodic sound and playful demeanor has set him on a speedy path to being hip-hop’s next young superstar.
“When positive things happen you can’t be surprised because that’s what you wanted to happen in the first place.”, Tecca told the New York Times in a recent interview. As fast as things are moving for him, Tecca seems to be nothing but ready and willing.
The We Love You Tecca Tour wraps up its US leg in Brooklyn this weekend before heading to Europe for the rest of the month. At the rate the kid is blowing up, I suggest you catch Lil Tecca while you can.
