Legendary Celtic punk band Flogging Molly return with their first new album in five years, Anthem (Sept. 9, Rise Records), a collection that finds the raucous Los Angeles-by-way-of-Dublin outfit reunited with Swagger and Drunken Lullabies engineer Steve Albini. In support of the album Anthem, Flogging Molly perform with The Interrupters at The Anthem on Wednesday, June 22!

You can win tickets to go to the show with Parklife DC.

“With this record we went back to the basics in a way that I don’t think we could have done if we hadn’t been playing together for over 20 years,” said Flogging Molly singer/guitar player Dave King. “I think going back to Chicago and doing this record with Steve made the experience so fun and I really believe you can hear that on the record. For Flogging Molly, getting together and playing new songs is always the goal — and now we’re just getting excited to start playing these songs live and giving our fans a whole new era of Flogging Molly.”

To announce the album, Flogging Molly released “The Croppy Boy ’98,” a track that King describes as “a foot-stomping, rollicking ode to traditional Irish music.” The song’s arrival is accompanied by a live video featuring footage from Flogging Molly’s recent St. Patrick’s Day performance and annual festival at the Hollywood Palladium.

Meanwhile, The Interrupters release their eagerly anticipated fourth album, In The Wild, on Aug. 5 via Hellcat/Epitaph Records. While the 14-track opus reflects a story of survival and resilience from the band, the album’s opening track “Anything Was Better” effortlessly sets the tone across In The Wild and offers a personal account of lead vocalist Aimee Interrupter’s strength despite her struggles.

“This song is the story of my escape from not necessarily a location but from the pain and trauma of my upbringing,” Aimee Interrupter said. “It’s also a story of hope and seeking refuge in the unknown. I said goodbye to everyone and everything I ever knew because in my mind anything was better than where I was from.”

  1. Favorite Flogging Molly song is Tobacco Island. Favorite Interrupters son is She Got Arrested.

Keep up the great work, Parklife!

  2. Speaking of ‘Anthem’s, Flogging Molly’s “What’s left of the flag” is a solid jam. This show also has the benefit of Tiger Army on the bill! What a good lineup.

  3. Holy cow, what a great show this will be. I’ve been wanting to see both these bands for a while now. Everyone knows Flogging Molly’s best song is Devil’s Dance Floor!
