Kevin Gates recently brought his highly anticipated tour following his new album The Ceremony to The Fillmore Silver Spring. And fans were treated to an unforgettable evening of music and emotion. With opening acts by Jay Ortiz and DJ Chose warming up the crowd, anticipation mounted as attendees eagerly awaited Gates’ arrival.

At The Fillmore Silver Spring on April 5, Jay Ortiz kicked it off with an electrifying set, performing crowd favorites like “Black Mona Lisa” and “Abstract Ash.” However, the highlight came when he invited his father on stage for a special performance which added so much emotion to the night. And when America’s Got Talent semi-finalist Malik Dope joined him, the energy skyrocketed, with Malik’s impressive drumming skills adding an extra layer of excitement to the show.

Following Jay Ortiz, DJ Chose took the stage, captivating the audience with his infectious beats and high-energy performance. He had the crowd engaged performing all of his greatest hits and keeping the personality fun and energetic. From start to finish, DJ Chose had the crowd on their feet, setting the stage for the main event.

Finally, the moment arrived as Kevin Gates emerged to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. Opening with crowd favorites, Gates’ set was a mix of new and old material, showcasing his versatility as an artist. His commitment to connect with his fans was clear as he took a few minutes between each song to give some words of motivation. But it was a touching moment when Gates brought his mother on stage from the crowd, performing in front of her and expressing his gratitude with a heartfelt gesture that left many in the audience moved.

As the night drew to a close, Gates left the crowd with the best memories as well as delivering a powerhouse performance of his hit single “2 Phones.”
