Haley Reinhart put on a masterful performance recently at Rams Head on Stage in Annapolis. The show at Rams Head was one of the last dates Reinhart plays on a current tour before stopping to take a rest and get prepared to write her next album. Reinhart, known for finishing in third place on the 10th season of American Idol, showed her vocal range and power as a singer during this show producing one of the finest concerts I have seen so far this year.
At Rams Head on Stage on Feb. 17, Reinhart interacted great with her band and audience throughout the show. She performed great versions of her songs as well as covers throughout the duration of the concert. The fans were left speechless and wanting more after her final song.
Known for covers of “Creep” (Radiohead), “Habits” (Tove Lo), and “Levitating” (Dua Lipa), Reinhart had one of her finest moments of the show playing the song “All About that Bass,” which showed the range of her vocals and dynamic stage presence.
Bottom line: Reinhart delivers a fantastic, well-planned out set highlighting her professionalism throughout the evening. She did a fantastic cover of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” and then before taking a break before the encore, she performed an over-the-top cover of Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be,” just bringing down the house while delivering an epic Plant-like version of the song. She even laughingly made reference to getting her hair in order, somewhat like Robert Plant may have looked like on stage with Led Zeppelin during the 1970s before providing her classic presentation and interpretation of the song.
There was no opening act or band before Reinhart took the stage. After watching her complete set and her professional delivery of the songs with her highly in-tune band, it was evident there was no need for an opener. She owned the stage from the moment she stepped on to it at Rams Head until she walked off to much audience approval and cheers.
Reinhart is a fantastic musician and vocalist. She commanded the stage and worked extremely well with her band. I would go as far as to say that she may have one of the blueprints in modern, contemporary music for stage presentation and delivery. She is a standard bearer in a musical world of great talent, and she verified her ability and provided insight into hopefully more of what we will see in future tours.
