Julia Wolf delivered a commanding performance at a sold-out 9:30 Club on Sept. 28, bringing her Deep End World Tour 2026 to an enthusiastic crowd.

Wolf’s exceptional voice was on full display throughout the Monday night show, demonstrating why she has continued to build momentum over the past several years.

The New York singer-songwriter emerged in the early 2020s, releasing her first EP, Purgatory, in 2021, followed by her debut album, Good Thing We Stayed, in 2023. Known for her soothing and versatile voice, Wolf has gradually expanded her melodic pop sound to incorporate more alternative rock. The combination is working well, judging by the reception she received from the sold-out 9:30 Club crowd.

Before Wolf took the stage, Bee Blackwell and her band played an enjoyable 30-minute opening set. Based in Austin, Texas, Blackwell and her band blend rock guitar with a thumping bass sound that filled the club nicely. Earlier this year, Blackwell released a new EP, Nine Lives. Her music draws heavily from the alternative rock sounds of the ’90s.

Wolf opened her set with a strong one-two punch of “Wishbone” and “Kill You Off,” quickly establishing the energy of the evening.

Her voice remains the centerpiece of her performance. Wolf can move comfortably between soothing melodies and heavier rock arrangements, and she has developed an assured stage presence to go with that range. The audience stayed engaged throughout the show, while Wolf maintained an easy rapport with the crowd from beginning to end.

Nearly halfway through the set, Wolf and her band performed “Burning House,” one of the evening’s highlights. The slow, introspective song gave the performance room to breathe, balancing the faster and heavier material surrounding it. Those quieter moments helped showcase the versatility of both Wolf’s songwriting and her voice.

“Pearl” was another standout. The song carries a hip-hop-influenced beat beneath a full-bodied rock arrangement, neatly illustrating the evolving sound Wolf has brought to her recent work.

Wolf closed the show with “You’ve Lost A Lot of Blood” and “In My Room,” one of the strongest songs in her catalog and a natural concert anthem. The combination provided a fitting conclusion to an outstanding performance.

Wolf continues her US tour through October before heading to Europe in November.
