Despite Tuesday’s bad weather, Regina Spektor arrived in town to play a nearly sold-out show at DAR Constitution Hall that night. She performed in support of her new album, Remember Us to Life, published by Sire Records last year.
Regina played for a solid two hours, featuring new songs like “Grand Hotel,” “Bleeding Heart,” and “The Visit” in her set. Longtime admirers were rewarded with favorite singles from earlier in her career — such as “On the Radio,” “Fidelity,” “Hotel Song,” and “Samson” from second album, Begin to Hope. Regina has also been throwing in a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Chelsea Hotel #2.” (Apparently, Regina is fond of hotels.)
Over seven albums since 2001, Regina has made her own unique path, mixing musical styles from folk, jazz, punk, hip hop, and chamber pop. The audience was delighted by the show.
Regina is on the road still tonight, March 16, in Atlanta, and she remains on tour through April 8, when she wraps up in Los Angeles. Go be dazzled by her show!
