The legendary Brian Wilson will appear for two nights at the Lincoln Theatre on Wednesday, May 3, and Thursday, May 4, to celebrate the seminal Beach Boys album Pet Sounds in what he’s calling final performances of the album. Wednesday is sold out, but amazingly tickets still remain for the Thursday night show.

In 1966, Brian and his bandmates released their 11th studio album, introducing the world to classic songs like “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Sloop John B,” “God Only Knows,” and “Caroline, No.”

Brian celebrated the 50th anniversary of Pet Sounds with a tour of the album, and next month’s DC performances are part of an extended tour underway now that wraps in May with Brian’s band and his Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin.

Brian began work on Pet Sounds in 1965 with the goal of investing himself in deeply personal songs that spurned the commercial sound of the Beach Boys. Inspired by The Beatles album Rubber Soul, the Beach Boys found a new era of success with their concept album.

In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked Pet Sounds as the #2 album on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
