Feeling hungry this weekend? If you didn’t eat enough at Thanksgiving last week, MetroCooking DC, the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show, is offering a two-day food festival at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, for you to satiate your cravings.
MetroCooking DC is offering programming on each day including meet and greets with celebrity chefs and book signing opportunities. You can see the entire schedule, including opportunities to meet chefs like Tom Colicchio, Jacques Pepin, and Duff Goldman at http://www.metrocookingdc.com. You also can sign up for cooking demos!
But we at Parklife DC are most interested in eating at the two food pavilion offerings — the show is offering one each day. On Saturday, you can join the BBQ Bash, presented by Oklahoma Joe’s BBQ. (The world-famous BBQ chain recently opened a branch in Vienna, Virginia!) Sample scrumptious meats and feast on some of the best BBQ in town at MetroCooking DC. You’ll be able to gobble up BBQ chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs, and BBQ sauces! And you’ll mingle with local pitmasters and smoking specialists behind the DMV’s growing barbecue scene.
Celebrity chefs David Guas and Diva Q smoke up the pavilion with their live demos and expert judging opinions.
If that weren’t tempting enough, you can buy a BBQ & Brew Package that includes access to the MetroCooking DC Beer, Wine & Spirits Garden and the BBQ Bash Pavilion with one ticket.
On Sunday, the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) invites you to celebrate a day of discovery and indulgence at MetroCooking’s 4th annual RAMW Grand Tasting Pavilion. More than 50 of Washington’s top restaurants will come together to serve their delicious creations for a good cause, as a portion of the proceeds from the sampling feat will benefit Educated Eats. Enjoy amazing food and drink and mingle with the talent behind the city’s flourishing food and beverage scene.
As with the previous day’s pavilion, you also can purchase a special ticket to gain access to the RAMW Grand Tasting Pavilion and the MetroCooking DC Beer, Wine & Spirits Garden. Direct access between these pavilions provides you with a seamless experience in the show’s Sips & Savor package.
Among the restaurants participating in the RAMW Grand Tasting Pavilion are Masa 14, Zengo, El Centro DF, ToroToro, Medium Rare, BiBim, Drift on 7th, Hank’s Oyster Bar, Hank’s Pasta Bar, Carmine’s, Carlucci’s Dolci, Gelati, Lavagna, Olde Town Inn, Foode, Olivia Macaron, Circa, Wine Kitchen, Nage, &pizza, Ottoman Taver, District Doughnut, Indigo Landing, Kona Grill, Dino’s Grotto, The Fourth Estate, Upper Crust Pizzeria, Captain Cookie!, The Chickery, Duke’s Counter, Cooper’s Hawk, Silo, Agua 301, District Distilling Co., Oz Reserved, Sugar Shack Donuts, Estadio, Bangkok Joe’s, Paolo’s, Colada Shop, and more.
