Sunday evening shows can be notorious for their difficulty in drawing an audience, but the lack of an overflowing crowd didn’t cool the enthusiasm for Mbrascatu’s recent brilliant performance at the New Prospect Theatre.

The Boss — Mr. Bruce Springsteen — recently performed once again in Washington, DC, and his epic show at Nationals Park was a lesson in charisma and a celebration of pure showmanship.

“He’s a pretty good songwriter for a guitar player,” BettySoo said of James McMurtry. Indeed, he is a fine songwriter, having won awards from the Americana Music Association and the respect of his peers, like Jason Isbell. But, as he declares in “These Things I’ve Come to Know,” “I can’t dance a lick, but sometimes I can flat rock and roll.” McMurtry did just that in his recent appearance at The Birchmere.

Punk legends Circle Jerks and Descendents have released a collaborative EP earlier this year via Trust Records. The two bands then launched a co-headling tour that arrived recently to The Fillmore Silver Spring.

Steve Satzberg was there to photograph Circle Jerks and Descendants as well as their openers Buzzcocks and Surfbort!

Last week, my 21-year old self was in his glory when Jiffy Lube Live hosted an amazing show. It was a trio of ’90s alternative-rock heavy hitters in the form of Soul Asylum, Stone Temple Pilots, and Live. I haven’t been to a show like that in a long time.

ZZ Top recently delivered a blistering performance at Jiffy Lube Live, proving once again why they’re rock royalty. The Texas trio, known for their signature blend of blues and rock, brought their A-game to the Jiffy Lube Live stage in Bristow, Virginia, for a thoroughly enjoyable night of high-octane rock ‘n’ roll.
