“My name is Maggie Rogers, and I’ve been dreaming about playing this venue since the sixth grade!”

It may not have been a traditional opening line for singer making an entrance, but this was tremendously fitting. After all, it was the Easton, Maryland native’s hometown show, and so Maggie Rogers recently played a packed Merriweather Post Pavilion with support from The Japanese House .

Nation of Language are sincerely a breath of fresh air.

The Brooklyn new wave trio recently breezed into 9:30 Club for a bright set of music that drew from their three studio albums, and audience absolutely could not get enough of the band’s earnest immersion in their synth sounds and their dedication to their songcraft.

River Shook, lead singer and songwriter for Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, cuts a unique figure, even on the island of misfit toys that constitutes the alt-country community. As a nonbinary and bisexual person, they bring a unique perspective to a classic, hard-rocking country sound that hews back to the great outlaws of the genre, spiced with a punk fervor.

In their recent show at Songbyrd Music House, they played it, as Dylan would say, “fucking loud,” but with an underlying vulnerability and honesty.

On a recent memorable night at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, we gathered to celebrate one of the greatest bands in the land, Frankie Beverly and MAZE. With happy feelings in the air the atmosphere was filled with excitement as we all dressed in white, honoring the legendary group.

Roger Daltrey, the legendary frontman of The Who, recently delivered a mesmerizing performance at Wolf Trap, marking the second stop of his 12-stop summer tour, Roger Daltrey and His Electric/Acoustic Band. The 80-year-old rock icon, with his charismatic presence and powerful voice, took the audience on a journey through a semi-acoustic set, interweaving The Who’s greatest hits with select covers, engaging stories, and a unique Q&A session.

Joe Jackson clearly as of two minds during his recent DC visit to the Lincoln Theatre: He could present a stripped down show of fan-favorite tunes or he could go big with a vaudevillian spectacle!

Instead of choosing one or the other, Joe simply did both, much to the agreement of the bustling U Street venue, for the concert date in his Two Rounds of Racket Tour.
