Billy Strings made a triumphant return to The Anthem on Nov. 13, putting on a blazing hot performance for a sold-out crowd, some of whom had waited in line since 11am to get a good spot inside for an 8pm show. Billy’s only previous appearance at The Anthem was Feb. 1, 2019, as the opener for Greensky Bluegrass.

Billy Strings is hailed by many as the future of bluegrass music. And the future of bluegrass is strong — if the fervent reaction of a sold-out crowd packing 9:30 Club recently when Billy’s tour stopped in DC is any indication.

Watermelon Park, located in Berryville, Virginia, on the banks of the Shenandoah River, is a local haven for camping, tubing and kayaking all summer long. It hosted the 15th annual Watermelon Park Festival recently, and we’ve got pictures of the performing bands to prove it!

Last weekend, revelers gathered at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, West Virginia, for the second annual Deep Roots Mountain Revival to enjoy Americana, bluegrass, and more with headliners Brandi Carlile, Dr. Dog, and Lettuce. Our friend Chester Simpson was there and took some photos of some of his favorite bands!

Red Wing Roots Festival, a family-friendly celebration of music, features kids events and activities and bike rides in the park. Red Wings V was held in Natural Chimneys Park on July 14-16.
