The Faint returned with an 11-track deep-dive into themes on modern society, the internet, and ego — specifically social media and its dark effects, on their latest album Egowerk, released earlier this year via Saddle Creek. Now, The Faint appear at 9:30 Club on Saturday, Aug. 3, in support of the Egowerk 2019 Tour!

Dan Boeckner is a compelling frontman. The high-spirited crooner danced and weaved his way through an excellent show by his band Operators at U Street Music Hall recently, doing it all as he sang, strummed, and synthed his way through 14 gorgeous songs.

Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade went totally new wave with his latest project, Operators. The synth-forward trio released Radiant Dawn, a second studio album, recently via Last Gang Records, and Operators perform at U Street Music Hall on Saturday, July 13.

Berlin, the California-based new wave collective, recruited Terri Nunn as lead singer in 1979, and so the band is celebrating 40 years of making music this year. Over the decades, however, Berlin continued with Terri’s undeniably alluring vocals, while the *classic* lineup of the band only ever made three records together — Pleasure Victim (1982), Love Life (1984), and Count Three & Pray (1986). But what three marvelous albums!
Today, Terri has reunited with her classic bandmates, John Crawford and David Diamond. Berlin recorded a new album, Transcendence, released on Aug. 2. Now, Berlin open for The B-52s on a farewell tour, including a stop at The Anthem on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
Parklife DC’s Mickey McCarter recently chatted with Terri Nunn about working with John Crawford and David Diamond again, the upcoming megatour, and being a female musician, among other things.

Flashback to more than 10 years ago, you could’ve caught me singing “L.E.S Artistes” by Santigold on repeat on my iPod — but that song came to life recently at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Santigold: 10 Years Golder Tour featured the full self-titled debut album for an eager crowd, ready to soak up the nostalgia feels of her album and other songs too.
