Luigi Parasmo and Javier Calvo opened the doors of their new state-of-the-art spa in Georgetown Monday, welcoming guests to the Luigi Parasmo Salon and Spa (1510 Wisconsin Ave. NW, DC).
Guests toured the 2,000-square-foot spa, which offers skin, body and nail treatments, ranging from holistic oxygen therapy, acne-specific remedies and a spa menu geared specifically towards men. In a rare twist, spa clients can multitask while they receive spa services. The spa offers embedeed iPads at each of three pedicure stations, allowing people to browse the web and check email.
The spa also offers two manicure bars. In the winter, it will add spray tanning to its services.
Parasmo and Calvo hired new specialists — master aestheticians, nail technicians and massage therapists — to join their team at the spa. Four treatment rooms play home to facial and massage services with Luigi Parasmo Salon’s experienced estheticians. The facial menu includes express, oxygen and microdermabrasion treatments.

Born in Rome, Italy, hair stylist Luigi Parasmo knew the meaning of beauty at a young age. In his early career, Parasmo worked for Battaglia Hair and Make Up agency in Milan, where he styled runway models for the likes of international iconic brands Valentino, Armani, D&G and Versace among others. With more than 30 years of styling experience and 20 years perfecting his craft in DC, the Italian with an eye for elegance is finally creating a home for his talented team.
Parasmo has styled Tory Burch and Thyphoon at Fashion Week in New York, the epicenter of trends in hair. To stay up to date on the latest trends, Parasmo takes seminars and classes from the masters like Luis Longueras, Aldo Coppola, and Toni & Guy.
Customer service is a nonnegotiable, and something that Parasmo plans to bring back to the beauty industry in his new salon. Beyond haircuts, color, eyebrows and make-up, Parasmo has his own philosophy about beauty in Washington.
“I think everyone who steps in to my chair has an inner beauty, and I like to discover that beauty. To me, the word beautiful is not what’s in society’s fashion magazines — beauty can be a busy working woman, a mother, a daughter, my friend. Beautiful is anything that is feminine and related to a woman’s world. Looks should always be personalized according to a person’s features, the face, skin tone and lifestyle. I look for the individual beauty in all the clients of Luigi Parasmo Salon. My goal is to help my clients find that inner wow-factor,” said Parasmo.
