Passport-DC
2 for 1 drink specials at 42 DC venues

DC Beer reported:

‘Well this is an interesting idea.  The Passport Program is coming to DC, and it’s bringing hot, hot deals all summer long.  Folks who buy a passport get two drinks for the price of one at 42 local venues from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Every stop you make, you get a stamp in your passport, meaning that you can’t double up on your visits, but you should try more new places anyway…while drinking two-for-one drinks.  Just remember what the passport people say: be sure to tip on the price of two drinks.

May 20th, they’re throwing a kickoff party at Suburbia from 5 to 8.   Just register at the link and you’re well on your way to a boozier summer.’

Press release and participating venues:

This summer, DC’s most beloved bars, restaurants, breweries, and distilleries will participate in the new DC Passport Program to enhance summer for thousands of engaged city-dwellers. The Passport Program, a 2-for-1 drink special program, was introduced in Denver in June 2013, and was such a success that this year, there will be 10 participating cities, including DC.

“DC’s the perfect place for The Passport Program because of the awesome people and the booming craft cocktail and craft beer scene,” says Casey Berry co-founder of The Passport Program. “People in DC work hard and play hard, and the Passport Program is a great way for everyone to wind down after work and on weekends, all summer long.”

The DC Passport is a locally curated, pocket-sized black booklet filled with 2-for-1 drink specials all across town, valid from Memorial Day weekend (May 22) to Labor Day (September 7). Passports can be purchased online at ThePassportProgram.com for $20 starting May 12 and can be used all summer at 40+ venues.

Similar to a government-issued Passport, bartenders stamp the pages to show where guests have been, and each Passport is valid for one, 2-for-1 special at each establishment. There is no cost for venues to participate, and the Passport team is careful to invite the best establishments in town; those that take pride in enhancing the food and beverage culture of DC.
