Last fall, Sting released his 12th solo album, 57th & 9th, via A&M/Interscope Records. Currently, Sting is on a tour to celebrate the occasion, and he will perform locally at MGM National Harbor on Sunday, March 12.

The new effort from Sting marks his first pop album in more than a decade. The 10 songs run the gamut of Sting’s pop music sensibilities. Sting recorded the album over a few weeks in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, inspiring the title — 57th & 9th.

On the 57th & 9th Tour, Sting is joined by a three-piece band that includes longtime guitarist Dominic Miller and Josh Freese (drums) and Rufus Miller (guitar).

Sting launched his current tour in Vancouver on Feb. 1, drawing universally positive criticism. The Vancouver Weekly described the show, saying, “The set pulsated though the overwhelming database of new songs, solo material, and classic Police hits.”

“Sting is a universal story teller, built from the stuff of what they say legends are made of,” Vancouver Weekly added. Don’t miss this legend when he’s in town.
