Mew released their seventh studio album Visuals in April via Play It Again Sam. The trio are on tour with a visit to 9:30 Club on Saturday, Aug. 5, and you can win tickets to go with Parklife DC.

The Danes have been making pleasing indie pop since their debut album A Triumph for Man in 1997. Their latest is their first album without guitarist Bo Madsen, who left the band in 2015.

“Elaborating on the synth-laden pop lusciousness that its predecessor, +-, relished, Visuals finds Mew continuing to move away from the experimental art-rock tendencies of And the Glass Handed Kites and No More Stories… and towards a gentler, starrier, and more accessible foundation. Whether or not that’s a benefit or detriment is in the eye of the beholder, but it’d be difficult to deny that Visuals isn’t as charming and catchy as anything else they’ve done,” said Jordan Blum in a review for PopMatters.
