Dhani Harrison released his first solo album, IN///PARALLEL, on Oct. 6 via BMG Records. He’s on tour with the new music, and he performs at U Street Music Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
The song of famed guitarist of The Beatles (George Harrison), Dhani was involved in several other musical ventures prior to finally going solo this month. With IN///PARALLEL, Dhani gets introspective as he draws upon his past experiences with soundtracks and cinema. Last week, he released a music video for his first single “All About Waiting” from the new album.
The animated video was directed and animated by Adam Osgood, with additional illustrations from A. D’Amico and hand-drawn animation by Sarah Schmidt. It tells the story of a DNA scientist struggling to control disaster. Watch the official music video for “All About Waiting” by Dhani Harrison on YouTube:
Dhani was inspired by icons such as David Bowie, Radiohead, Massive Attack, and Han Zimmer on the new album.
“The record is about self-discovery, self-love, self-healing,” Dhani said. “You can’t be loved until you learn to love yourself. You can’t help others until you learn to help yourself.
“It’s an introspective trip from where I was to where I am now,” he added. “I had things happen during recording this that changed my perspective on everything.”
