Stars, the irrepressible Canadian chamber pop band, returned to the slipstream with There Is No Love in Fluorescent Light, their ninth studio album, in October via Last Gang Records. The band return to 9:30 Club on Monday, April 23, and you can win tickets to see Stars with Parklife DC!
Earlier in 2017, Stars announced the new album was coming: “Hello. We’re back. We have a new album. It was recorded in Montreal and Connecticut with the great producer Peter Katis. We love him and thank him for being there for us. It’s our first with our friends at Last Gang. We made this record for ourselves, for our kids, and for you. And we are so happy and grateful that you’re still listening to our music. here’s a couple of songs from the record.”
One of those songs was “Privilege,” which features signature vocals from Amy Millan, who makes beautiful music with her bandmates, Evan Cranley, Chris McCarron, Patty McGee, Chris Seligman, and Torquil Campbell.

So excited to see they’re coming back to DC! My favorite song is hard to pick but it would probably be elevator love letter.
Your Ex-Lover Is Dead for sure! Feels like a movie every time I listen to it.
I’ve heard them, but I have no idea what songs I heard. No song to call a favorite.
“Take Me to the Riot” is def my fave!
