Not too long ago, George Clinton released a live album, P-Funk Live at Metropolis. P-Funk of course refers to George’s musical collective, Parliament-Funkadelic, the psychedelic funk act that drew together the individual bands Parliament and Psychedelic, both founded in the ‘60s.
Well, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic will play at 9:30 Club on Thursday, Aug. 2, and you can win tickets to go with Parklife DC!
Recently, George and The P-Funk All Stars dropped by NPR Music for a Tiny Desk Concert. They performed “Standing on the Verge of Getting It On,” “One Nation Under a Groove,” and “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker).”
George (lead vocals) appeared at NPR Music with Dwayne Blackbyrd McKnight (guitar), Lige Curry (bass), Garrett Shider (guitar), Danny Bedrosian (keyboard), Benzel Cowan (drums), Tonysha Nelson (backup vocals), Patavian Lewis (backup vocals), and Tairee Parks (backup vocals).
