Jessie Reyez released Kiddo, her debut EP, via FMLY in 2017, and she followed it up with a new single “Body Count” in 2018. She’s coming around to sing all of her songs while opening Halsey at Wolf Trap on Sunday, July 15.
“Throughout the six tracks on Kiddo, plus a nearly minute-long interlude from a voicemail of her parents singing her happy birtrhday in Spanish, Reyez is vulnerable yet unwilling to be anything but herself, letting her raw emotion serve ballad-like tracks and bangers alike. Having already worked with the likes of King Louie, Chance the Rapper, Skrillex and Calvin Harris — and now immediately selling out shows — Reyez is looking at one hell of a 2018,” said CBC Music, naming Kiddo one of the Best Canadian Albums of 2017.

“Reyez — who has quickly gained traction for her unapologetic candor on records — once again exudes a high-level of honesty on her latest outing. ‘Body Count’ finds her soulfully warbling about women embracing their sexuality rather than being timid,” said Carl Lamarre, introducing the track for Billboard.
