Australian DJ Alison Wonderland, born Alexandra Sholler, released Awake, her second studio album, in April via EMI Music. It of course hit #1 on the US Top Dance/Electronic albums chart. This weekend, Alison Wonderland will perform two nights at Echostage. The first night is sold out, but tickets are still available for Saturday, Sept. 1.
Kat Bein underscores the theme of depression in one of Alison’s latest songs, Easy. “It’s thoughtful and even somehow fun, but it’s the silence at the end that hits the hardest,” Kat said in Billboard.
The “Easy” music video was directed by Bo Mirhosseni, the same mind behind Disclosure’s “When a Fire Starts to Burn” and Kaytranada’s “Glowed Up” featuring Anderson .Paak. Watch the official music video for “Easy” by Alison Wonderland on YouTube:
“Showcasing the Aussie DJ’s brightly effusive vocals and shimmering, propulsive electronic productions, Awake is an expansive, deeply felt album,” said Matt Collar in a review for AllMusic.
