All Things Go Fall Classic was held at Union Market over last weekend, and the Saturday line-up was a noteworthy one because it was an all-women affair. It was a special day to attend to catch the amazing voices in general, but to see women represented like no one has in seen at music festivals it quite remarkable. Maggie Rogers and Liz Plapinger (aka LPX) co-curated the Saturday lineup, and both made sure that the lineup represented women from all genres of the music industry. From rock to R&B to pop, there was something for everybody.

I caught the end of LPX set on that day, and I wish I could have gotten there sooner. Lizzy said she couldn’t be more happy to debut her live band at ATG Fall Classic.

Rayvn Lenae followed suit with her Crush EP. Love is theme that dominated her set — whether you were longing for someone or someone didn’t love you as much as you did. Rayv prepared the crowd for the fact that some of her songs might strike a chord! But it was okay to feel all the feels during her set.

Toronto-native Jessie Reyez hyped the crowd up and told the story of how she got into the music industry beginning with her EP Kiddo. Her story inspired those who come from an immigrant background. Jessie proved the energy that you put into your craft will pay off. She wanted to experience the audience, and she jumped right in, crowd-surfing in the pit. It was the perfect way to end her set.

Billie Eilish took the stage to a frenzied crowd. At only 16, she is naturally comfortable with herself and aware of her stage presence. Her album, Don’t Smile at Me, was sung by everyone throughout the night. I couldn’t help but be amazed by Billie and her adoring fans. I can only expect great success from her in the future.

Maggie Rogers ended the night with an amazing set. Starting off with my favorite song from her, “On + Off. ” I could tell from her energy that she was so happy to be performing. It was almost shocking to her, still, that people lineup or wait all day to see her perform! She even debuted a couple of unreleased songs from her awaited debut album (set to be released in early 2019). It was just beautiful to just close your eyes and listen her band and her voice.
On that same day, the US Supreme Court swore in a new justice that many women opposed. On that same day, women were outraged. So this day of the All Things Go Fall Classic was more than just a music festival. This day was a message to everyone outraged in the nation who are ready to fight. Thank you, All Things Go, for giving women a voice.
