If the Astros being in the World Series is any sign that the city of Houston is glo-ing up right now then Maxo Kream and his Brandon Banks Tour making its way around the US is the icing on the cake. H-Town has forever been layered with certified artist dating back to the godfather’s DJ Screw, Big Moe, and Devin The Dude. Now it’s Maxo’s time to tell his story about life in Clutch City.
On Oct. 25, Brandon Banks aka Maxo Kream’s tour bus tipped dine in the heart of DC at U Street Music Hall. The underground venue gave us an intimate setting for getting to know Maxo. Storytelling is where the Kream Clicc boss shines. Wearing his heart on his sleeve through every verse, his music screams “authenticity.” How else would we find out about his father’s stroke or the tragedy that was Hurricane Katrina.

The compact and dimly lit music hall put the big man with a big “Persona” front and center. His energy was immense. Rocking the stage from corner to corner and jumping in the crowd. He looked right at home in the limelight. His faithful followers singing word for word as if he was leading some kinda trap hymns. The love in the room was inspiring. Long time collaborator A$AP Ant stopped by to show his support. Maxo ended the night with some inspirational advice for the youth. “Say NO To drugs!”, “Sell’em don’t do ‘em”.
