Not long ago, The Glorious Sons, the groundbreaking Canadian rockers, rolled through 9:30 Club to open The Struts for a very wild show! On Friday, The Glorious Sons made a triumphant return to 9:30 Club as the headliner, and Paivi Salonen got all of the pix.
On Jan. 24, The Glorious Sons played 9:30 Club fresh from the release of A War on Everything, the band’s third studio album, released last year via Black Box and BMG. The band of course played the album’s hit singles, including “Panic Attack” (#1 on Billboard Mainstream Rock and Mediabase Active Rock Charts) and “S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun).”

The Glorious Sons came equipped with a few surprises, however, offering covers of “Love Is a Battlefield” by Pat Benatar and “Praise You” by Fatboy Slim in the middle of the set.
While the entire band was on fire, frontman Brett Emmons was particularly as sight to behold as always, whipping himself then the crowd into a frenzy as if arriving to deliver a touch of glam fervently channeled through a Southern preacher man. The audience in the crowded show surely became believers.
