After a (too) long absence, Kris Delmhorst returns to the Pacific Northwest for dates in Portland (April 25) and Seattle (April 27), wrapping up at Bellingham’s New Prospect Theatre on Sunday, April 28.

Kris is an American songwriter, singer, instrumentalist, and producer. A New York City native with a background in classical cello and piano, she cut her teeth in the open mics and coffeehouses of the Cambridge, Massachusetts, music scene in the late 1990s, and within a few years was playing clubs, theaters, and festivals throughout the USA and Europe.

Delmhorst has released eight full-length solo albums, most on the enduring indie label Signature Sounds, as well as a panoply of EPs and side projects including an album of reworkings of well-known poems, and a collection of all-acoustic covers of songs by new-wave heroes The Cars.

Watch Kris Delmhorst (with Jeffrey Foucault) perform “Wind’s Gonna Find a Way” on Live from the Back Pasture via YouTube:

A true musician’s musician, Delmhorst has become known for constant collaboration and a free-range, genre-agnostic curiosity. Her songs have been included in TV series and feature films, and she’s appeared as a vocalist or instrumentalist on dozens of albums and produced projects for Session Americana, Jeremy Moses Curtis, and others.

She lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband, the songwriter Jeffrey Foucault, and their daughter.
