Kid Bloom soared past 100 million indie streams in 2019. “Sledgehammer” which follows his first 2020 release “Wounded/Surrounded,” builds on the success of Bloom’s Lemonhead EP released last year. The Line of Best Fit dubbed its title track “the perfect marriage between 80s pop and contemporary indie”; while OnesToWatch proclaimed the project, “yet another fabulous record.” Observers noted Kid Bloom’s sonic palette, steeped in influences as varied as Tame Impala, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Big Star, and David Bowie.
