Draping the intimate space within Recessions in soothing synthpop, Swedish duo Kite dropped by the weekly Spellbound party on Saturday to engross an attentive crowd with their poignant compositions.

Swedish electronic duo Kite are returning to the United States after a successful summer debut last year, and they are performing at Spellbound, located at Recessions (1823 L St. NW, DC) on Saturday, March 4.

Lol Tolhurst is a founding member of The Cure, and he played keyboards with Robert Smith and company until his departure from the band in 1989. Last fall, Lol published Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys, a memoir of his life as a musician.
The book brings him to DC next week for special appearances at Songbyrd Music House and Record Cafe (2477 18th St. NW, DC) on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar (1104 H St. NE, DC) on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Aesthetic Perfection, aka Los Angeles producer Daniel Graves, released a new single, “Love Like Lies,” in December on his own label, Close to Human Music. Now he is on his first full US tour in three years, and he visits DC to perform at Ivy City Tavern — tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 7!
