Hailing from Northampton, Massachusetts, dark electronic duo Boy Harsher released Country Girl, a new EP, on Oct. 13. Augustus Miller and Jae Matthews then picked up some tour dates, and they perform at DC9 on Sunday, Oct. 29 with DC’s own dark electronic duo Technophobia.
Augustus combines minimal beats with grinding synths, while Jae whispers and screams along. The results sometimes resemble EBM, sometimes drone, and sometimes storytelling. Boy Harsher add cinematic flair to their performances, drawing on their backgrounds in film.

Boy Harsher started in 2013, adopted their current name in 2014, and soon released Lesser Man, their debut EP. Boy Harsher followed that up with Yr Body Is Nothing, their first full-length studio album, in 2016.
Well known for their charity shows at Black Cat, Technophobia, husband and wife Katie and Stephen, join Boy Harsher on the bill for their DC show on Sunday. It’s a perfect “electric” storm of dark music in time for the Halloween season!
