DC dark electronic duo Technophobia were set to perform at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Germany this year before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. Undaunted, Technophobia performs a livestream show at the exact time they were to play WGT — on Sunday, May 31, via Twitch.

Electronic music mastermind Daniel Myer is a prolific German electronic artist and musician with decades of solo projects, partnerships, and collaborations. Daniel performed recently at Ivy City Smokehouse as DSTR, and Christine Hall caught up with him for an interview.

Swedish futurepop band Covenant released The Blinding Dark, their ninth full-length album, in 2016 via Dependent Records. Fronted as ever by Eskil Simonsson, the band is now on The Blinding Dark USA Tour, which included a stop at Ivy City Smokehouse Tavern on Sunday. Paivi was there to capture the show.

Electronic duo Boy Harsher performed at DC9 on Sunday on the heels of releasing Country Girl, their latest EP, on Oct. 13 via Ascetic House. Augustus Miller and Jae Matthews played some of their latest dark electronic music in a very satisfying show on a brief US tour that takes them to Kingston, New York, tonight.

Hailing from Northampton, Massachusetts, dark electronic duo Boy Harsher released Country Girl, a new EP, on Oct. 13. Augustus Miller and Jae Matthews then picked up some tour dates, and they perform at DC9 on Sunday, Oct. 29 with DC’s own dark electronic duo Technophobia.

Assemblage 23 is a Seattle-based electronic/synthwave band currently touring United States in support of their latest album Endure.
In a show produced by Spellbound Productions, Assemblage 23 drew quite a large crowd to an unusual new DC venue — Ivy City Smokehouse. As the name implies, Ivy City Smokehouse is a seafood restaurant, but it has a large, separate stage room that accommodated hundreds of concert-goers and provided Assemblage 23 with a state of the art sound system.
