Deep house DJ Bakermat, born Lodewijk Fluttert, will release a new EP, Do Your Thing, via Be Yourself and Sony on Friday, June 8. Soon after, he will perform at Soundcheck in DC on Thursday, June 14.

Inspired by the music of classic dance music artists including Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim, and Moby, Bakermat’s crafted his new music around a vintage sound that dances between the underground and mainstream.

Recently, Bakermat released the first single from the EP, “Lion.” The track perfectly demonstrates Bakermat’s flair for experimentation, infusing house with dancehall riffs and reggae-inspire vocals. All five tracks on the new album not only make for perfect summer music, but they recapture Bakermat’s passion for music — a passion that remains strong after five years of nonstop touring.

On his Partystarter tour, the Dutch producer performs in San Francisco and Las Vegas, with sold-out shows in Chicago and New York, in addition to DC.
