Act fast to see all these thrilling hip hop and electro acts on one stage:

SZA, 2 Chainz, RL Grime, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, The Internet, Smokepurpp, Rico Nasty, Maxo Kream, Sheck Wes, Snoh Aalegra, Rayana Jay, Everyday People, Jungle Fever, Beau Young Prince, Good Intent, Rezt, Innanet James, Soduh, That Feel Good, Joy Club, Skin Valley, Closed Sessions, First Family, Girlaaa, Chicken & Mumbo Sauce, True Laurels, and Special Guest: Carnage!

In 2012, the organizers held the first Trillectro at the Half Street Fairgrounds near Nationals Park. It featured host Doug E. Fresh and headliner Schoolboy Q! From there, the festival kept growing, and by 2014, it was held at RFK Stadium with headliners Big Sean and Migos. In 2015, Trillectro expanded to Merriweather Post Pavilion with headliner Chance the Rapper. Trillectro mysteriously took a break in 2017.

But now Trillectro is back, and SZA tops the lineup! Solána Imani Rowe, aka SZA, released Ctrl, her debut album, last year via Top Dawg Entertainment and RCA. Watch the official music video for “Garden (Say It Like Dat)” by SZA on YouTube:

Writing for the Washington Post in 2016, Julian Kimble hailed Trillectro as DC’s youth-empowered end-of-summer celebration with performers like Lil Uzi Vert and Kid Cudi.

“Trillectro’s vibrant lineup at the venerable Columbia, Md., venue reflected the valuable understanding that youthful energy is one of music’s guiding lights. Artists like Philly rapper Lil Uzi Vert, a self-professed “rock star,” reflected the target audience’s attitude: His pogo-sticking around the amphitheater stage to ‘Buy It’ and ‘Money Longer’ brought a noticeable change of pace,” Julian said.

He added: “For five summers, Trillectro has marked the season’s bittersweet death knell. And although the demographic seems to get younger each year, Kid Cudi used this year to prove youth isn’t wasted on, or reserved for, the young.”
