Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible bring their colorful collective to DC in celebration of more than 40 years of music, proving The Damned to be one of the best UK bands of any era. Read our interview with The Damned keyboardist Monty Oxymoron to learn more!
In a sentiment with which we wholeheartedly agree, Louder Than War declared, “The King’s people have drunk from the Fountain of Youth. This truly is a band at the top of its game. Long Live The Damned.”

Yes the Damned are “the greatest surviving British punk band,” and as the greatest surviving punk fan, I would love to see them at the Black Cat on Saturday, Oct. 20. “SMASH IT UP” is my favorite!
Phantasmagoria is one of my all-time top albums and I like that period the best overall, but if I had to pick a song, I’d have to say they knocked it out of the park with “Neat, neat, neat”. Classic punk rock.
Cant wait to see The Damned, Ive been listening to them since I was 12 and Im almost 40. I cant pick just one song “Melody Lee” from Machine Gun Etiquette and “Sanctum Santorum” from Phantasmagoria both still give me the chills when I hear them.
Their performance of “Nasty” on The Young Ones will always be my favorite
My favorite Damned song has to be “Neat Neat Neat”. Would love to win!!!
Machine Gun Etiquette is probably my favorite song, but I do like Devil In Disguise from the new album, a lot.
It’s amazing that “the first punk band” not only survives but thrives with a great album like Evil Spirits. Hard to pick a favorite but I’ll got “Wait for the Blackout” immediately springs to mind so I’ll go with it.
Can’t wait.
Can’t wait.
It may be a bit sentimental, but I have a soft spot for punk rock love songs. So I hope The Damned play Love Song, and not just for me.
My favorite Damned song is ‘Dead Beat Dance’ from The Return Of The Living Dead OST.
New Rose is my favorite song by The Damned.
Thank you.
I Just Can’t Be Happy Today
Please play “Curtain Call” at my funeral:
We’re coming up from the deep
The lizard sheds its skin
Night obliterates the day
And then the fun begins
I’ve got a new Rose, I’ve got it good… Just want to throw it on stage at the Damned show.
Smash It Up!
Favorite band of all time. “Wait for the Blackout,” easily.
‘Neat Neat Neat’ was the first song I ever heard in early 1977 on the ‘Weekend’ show which spelled SNL once a month.
Ignite!
I would have to say New Rose, first and one of the best
I think I’n Wonderful is my favorite Damned sing
