Strutman Lane played their utterly catchy EP numbers at The Atlantis on Jan. 25, including “Silent Movie,” a staple of their live show for a spell now, and “Lavender Haze,” a funky cover of a song by Taylor Swift (from her album Midnights)! The show also featured the EP’s “Restless Nights,” for which the band made a video.

From the outskirts of DC, a group of young men with a mutual love of funk, pop, and soul came together as Strutman Lane to breathe sensuality into new original music. Starting with their 2021 debut single, “I Want You To Know,” the band’s rhythm guitar hooks, warm vocals, and driving sax lines cater pocket grooves to the soul.
After releasing their 2022 debut EP, the home-recorded Bedroom Sessions, Strutman Lane has their sights set higher. In 2024, Strutman Lane headlined Black Cat, and then hit Bias Studios in Virginia to record their new self-titled EP. Starting with their first single, a funk cover of “Lavender Haze” by Taylor Swift — driven by three-part harmonies, powerful horn lines, tight grooves, and synth solos — this project became their most ambitious entry into the soul-pop arena.
Strutman Lane consists of frontman Adam Landa, Evan Williamson, Kennan Spencer, Chris Lawrence, Jack Gruber, and Henry Godfrey.
