Bush recently brought their Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour to The Fillmore Silver Spring, delivering a 90-minute set that was equal parts nostalgic and electrifying. Celebrating 30 years of alternative rock, the Grammy-nominated band — fronted by the ageless Gavin Rossdale, alongside guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes — proved they’re far from a heritage act, blending their iconic ‘90s sound with a vibrant, contemporary edge.
With Richard Patrick’s Filter as openers, the night was a masterclass in post-grunge energy, leaving the sold-out crowd buzzing.
Opening with “Everything Zen” on May 13, Bush immediately tapped into the spirit of their 1994 debut, Sixteen Stone. Rossdale’s gravelly vocals were as potent as ever, cutting through the venue’s crisp acoustics. The crowd roared, instantly transported to the ‘90s.
The setlist was full of the band’s greatest hits, as promised, heavily weighted toward Sixteen Stone’s five monumental singles: “Comedown,” “Machinehead,” “Little Things,” “Glycerine,” and “Everything Zen.” Each was performed with precision. “Machinehead,” in particular, was a standout, its killer riff ringing out through the night. Rossdale, now 59, showed no signs of slowing down, his sweat-soaked energy palpable as he leaped across the stage, guitar in hand.

What set this show apart was Rossdale’s connection with the audience. During “Flowers on a Grave,” he dove into the crowd, weaving through the audience while singing and dancing with fans.
Newer tracks, like “Bullet Holes” from their 2020 album, The Kingdom, held their own, showcasing Bush’s ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. The crowd’s enthusiasm for the newer songs suggested the band’s relevance endures.
Bush closed with “Comedown,” the crowd pogo-dancing as Rossdale thanked the crowd for their love.
