Few men command the respect of Tiësto from the DJ booth. Often voted “Best DJ of All Time,” the Dutchman has set a very high bar indeed over the past 20 years. He kept very busy last year, released a series of singles, and started a label dedicated to deep house. No stranger to DC, he returns to spin at Echostage on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11.
Tiësto is apparently gearing up for another album, which would be his sixth full-length release under his own name as a DJ and a producer. He dropped quite a few singles last year, however, collaborating with the likes of Oliver Heldens, Ummet Ozcan, Jauz, and John Legend.
Watch the official music video for “Summer Nights” by Tiësto, featuring John Legend, on YouTube:
Aside from his recent focus on deep house, Tiësto has been long associated with trance, leading the Washington Post to say in 2011: “He is trance’s contemporary ambassador, skillfully spinning it into the next generation of electronica by marrying the competing subgenres together into one evolving collection. If anyone will keep trance alive, it’s him.”
Whatever Tiësto brings to the turntable this weekend, you will want to hear it.
