The Glorious Sons won the 2018 Juno Award for Best Rock Album, and the Canadian rock quintet took their rising profile to DC9 for a show recently. Paivi was there to shoot it!

Consisting of Brett Emmons (vocals, guitar, harmonica, keys), Jay Emmons (guitar, vocals), Chris Koster (guitar, vocals), Adam Paquette (drums, vocals), and Chris Huot (bass), stopped by DC9 on their SOS Tour, which saw them perform “SOS (Sawed Off Shotgun)” in the middle of their set. On Feb. 18, the gents played several songs from Young Beauties and Fools, the 2017 album that introduced “SOS (Sawed Off Shotgun) as well as a few from their 2013 debut EP, Shapeless Art.

Near the end of their show, The Glorious Sons added a cover of “Gimme Shelter” by The Rolling Stones! The band is on a long US tour throughout the spring, so catch them when they perform near you. As KERRANG! said of The Glorious Sons, you’ll find “big, melodic rock that swaggers and sneers in equal measure.”
