Let’s just start here: Fastball’s recent set at Pier Six Pavilion felt like someone cracked open a dusty jukebox at high tide and let it breathe. It was about halfway through the Barenaked Ladies’ summer tour stop, and the early evening light was still doing that rainy, gray thing it does on the harbor. The boats bobbing beside the pier weren’t even pretending to care, but the people packed into those blue plastic seats? We were locked in.
There’s something beautifully weird about watching Guster as the lights come on around the harbor. Like, it shouldn’t work — this quirky little college rock band from Massachusetts playing songs about elevators and Ramona while sailboats drift by and a crab cake vendor yells over the fence — but it does. It works perfectly. Baltimore’s always had that rough-around-the-edges charm, and Guster’s always leaned into being just left-of-center. Put the two together and you’ve got the makings of something quietly electric (as seen recently at Pier Six Pavilion when the band opened Barenaked Ladies).
Eem Triplin has been hard at work making music since 2018, but he dropped his first full-length studio album in February. He then embarked on the Melody of a Memory Tour for a string of shows to spotlight that album.

Oh He Dead, on a short (and rare) West Coast run, recently stopped into Bellingham’s Wild Buffalo House of Music to play for an enthusiastic crowd. The second tour stop and first time in Bellingham turned into a raucous dance party as the band put on a stellar performance for the lucky ones there.
Celebrated folk-rock band Dispatch recently released their ninth studio album, Yellow Jacket via Bomber Records/AWAL Recordings. The band have embarked on a USA tour that lands at Wolf Trap on on Saturday, July 5.
In 1974, a 19-year-old Steve Earle arrived in Nashville from San Antonio and joined a circle of songwriters centered around Guy and Susanna Clark that included Rodney Crowell and John Hiatt. He’d written songs before — in Texas, he’d apprenticed himself to the talented but mercurial Townes Van Zandt — but he threw those away, starting over. The next year, he wrote the earliest songs he’d record and still plays today. At The Birchmere recently, he marked the passing of 50 years with a two-hour journey through his career.
In 2002, Aimee Mann released Lost in Space, her fourth album, on her own label, SuperEgo Records. She’s celebrating the 22 1/2 anniversary of the record on a tour, which includes a date at 9:30 Club on Sunday, June 15.
Yola closed out 2024 with the release of a new EP, My Way, via S-Curve Records. She followed it up with a 2025 tour, which recently made a stop at the Lincoln Theatre in DC! Steve Satzberg was there to photograph the show.
Tennis said farewell recently in their last DC-area show at The Anthem, and Micaela Cerball was there to photograph the husband-and-wife duo on stage!
With amazing vocals and unmatched passion for his art, Post Malone recently lit up Northwest Stadium (quite literally, with flames and fireworks galore). The crowd arrived excited and eager and left with even more energy, having enjoyed a night filled with fan-favorite hits, emotional tracks, and new top-charters from Post Malone’s new country-inspired album.
From the moment Post Malone walked on stage, drink in hand and a smile on his face, it was obvious that the night was going to be unforgettable.
